Billing reporting lags storage changes: AWS finalizes each month’s bill a few days into the next month. Evidence collection is how long we’ve watched file access; storage transitions are files actually moving tiers.

The tiers used here keep files instantly available. Optional archive tiers are different: files must be restored first, which takes hours. Opening an archived file doesn’t restore it.

Files under 128 KB don’t move tiers automatically, so they’re excluded. No completion date is guaranteed — it depends on eligibility, file access, configuration and AWS processing delays.
